China Dragon Boat Festival

An old Chinese proverb tells us not to judge a book a book by its cover, and similarly, although this trip is called The China Dragon Boat Festival, there is so, so, so much more to get your teeth into on this nine day sojourn to China.
Near the end of your nine day trip, you’ll visit Lake Jinji for one of China's most important Dragon Boat Races - brightly decorated vessels carrying up to 80 people are raced across the waters to the hypnotic rhythm of drums.
Why are we telling you about Day 9 first? Well, because all the other days are just as amazing, if not better! After arriving in Beijing, you’ll be whisked to Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City before an eye-boggling Chinese acrobatic performance.
The next day, you’ll be walking The Great Wall of China at Juyongguan Pass. Then it’s your chance to live like James Bond by bedding in for the night on a sleeper train. You’ll wake up refreshed in Xi’an to see the magnificent Terracotta Army and Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
After the Boat Race, it’s on to Shanghai and a tour of the many city sights including Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple and The Bund, with a cruise on the Huangpu River.
I can’t imagine a better way to explore China’s ancient history, marvel at its unequalled beauty and understand its rich culture… and eat Peking Duck! To sign up, just click the link!
