Why The Nobel Peace Prize Concert?
Everybody’s heard of the Nobel Peace Prize, obviously. But did you know that there was a Nobel Peace Prize Concert and that Peace is Loud? How loud? At least as loud as the nitroglycerine that Alfred Nobel invented!
Ever since 1994, the Nobel Peace Prize Concert has gathered a selection of the world’s most talented artists to pay tribute to the year's Peace Prize winner. This year’s concert, taking place at the Telenor Arena in Oslo, honours the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos for his ongoing efforts to bring the country's 50-year-long civil war to an end.
So how better to pay tribute to him than with a who's who party of philanthropists, dignitaries, Hollywood A-listers and movers and shakers? And this is your chance to let your hair down with them!
What makes this ""the most important concert of all""?
Superstar Conan O´Brien will be your host with the most as you sit back, relax and let the velvet tones and haunting guitar of Colombian musician, Juanes soothe your soul. Sting will perform his most-loved hit and music from his solo studio album, 57th & 9th, his first pop/rock project in over a decade.
If the ex-Police man isn’t loud enough for you, the lineup includes acts to suit everyone’s musical tastes - U.S. Electropop star Halsey and Norwegian indie rock band Highasakite will blow you away while Swedish female pop princesses, Icona Pop will be like dynamite! If that’s not enough Young Talent Act, Marcus & Martinius promise to explode onto the scene.
