The North American International Auto Show Exclusive Preview Night

The North American International Auto Show Exclusive Preview Night is a celebration of the past, present and future of the American modes of transport. If, as they say, ‘A man’s home is his castle,” then his car would be his steed: his magnificent horse upon which he could ride out into the world to vanquish dragons, meet his lady-love or duel with windmills if he were so inclined. But thank goodness for the great-minded tinkerers like Henry Ford. Imagine starting every day feeding your ‘vehicle’ a giant pile of grass and then clearing up the steaming heaps of muck that traversed through its internal combustion engine. Plus, horses don’t take too kindly to racing stripes being emblazoned on their flanks!

The Horse is Dead. Long Live The Horse Power

When Mr Ford finally perfected his dream of a simple, affordable motor vehicle for the masses, he scribbled, ‘The horse is dead’ in his notebook. Mass transport was born. It is no surprise then that one of the world’s largest motor shows happen annually in Motor City, Detroit. The North American International Auto Show exclusive preview night is a charity evening that kicks off the public showcase of the future of the automotive industry.

Since its inception in 1976, the Charity Preview evening has not only allowed for sneak previews of the vehicles on show, but has also raised over $100 million in charitable donations. All proceeds go to southeastern Michigan children’s charities. There should be no need to nag you about this one. Trot on down to Detroit for an evening of charitable horsing around!

In Short:

  • Detroit is the destination to roar into the New Year
  • Vintage vehicles, muscle mobiles, electric engines and road rallies
  • The After 9 Charity Preview after party
  • Design awards, daily activities and so much more
