Why Sandboarding in the Namib Desert?

Stand aside, Snowboarding!
Step back, Surfing!
Saunter off, Skateboarding!
Jog on, Skiing!

Sandboarding is the next big thing for adrenaline junkies and it’s here to stay!

Everybody is sandboarding, even people in galaxies far, far away as demonstrated by Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Why? Because sandboarding is like your two favourite childhood activities rolled into one...

You Mean Sandboarding Is Like Christmas Sledging And The Beach?!

It most definitely is! Formed by Chris Jason and Beth Sarro in 1996, Alter-Action was the first sandboarding operation on the Namibian Coast. Twenty years later, Chris and Beth have helped thousands of people master the skyscraper-sized sand-dunes and this is your chance to join the latest craze!

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or are an experienced snowboarder, pro-surfer or rad sk8r, sand is much easier than snow to learn on, meaning you can reach up to 60kph on lie-down sandboards, reach 80kph on The Tandem Toboggan on the “Dizzy Dune” or dive straight on into stand-up sandboarding on professional sandboards.

So if you want to discover your inner child and treat it to some well-deserved adrenalised FUN, without the bobble-hat, gloves and wellington boots - click the link!
