Why The Sauti za Busara Festival?
Meaning ""Sounds of Wisdom"" in Swahili, Sauti za Busara is an East African music festival that takes place for four magical days in February on the beautiful island of Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The boombastic action, centres in the Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe), with many fringe events taking place concurrently around Stone Town - including an incredible carnival street parade and Festival Roadshow meaning you can get in touch with your inner spirit or just open a bottle of Safari and dance the day and night away!
Hundreds of artists flock to the festival from Tanzania and all over Africa so a diverse and dynamic programme of exclusively African music is always on tap so ‘Full Mzuka!’ is guaranteed!

Well for starters, Stone Town, Zanzibar is where Freddie Mercury was born. In fact, not ""for starters"" - that's reason enough!
The line-up isn’t available until October, but 2018’s event will include 400 artists (that’s 40 groups) on three stages, an African Artists for Peace Concert, “Swahili Encounters” whereby local and visiting musicians meet, exchange and collaborate and not to forget those Fringe Festival events plus hundreds of yummy food and drink stalls across this vibrant island.
