Stay in the Real Wild West at Pioneertown Motel, pardner....

Is it your life's dream to spend the night in a room where ‘the Singing Cowboy’ Gene Autry played poker until sunrise? If so… that’s a very specific dream and you may need to seek some professional help.

However, the idea of staying in the true American West appeals, then that we can understand.

Whether you have just completed Red Dead Redemption II and need an excuse to keep calling everybody 'pardner', or simply want some peace and quiet desert-style, a Stay in the Real Wild West at Pioneertown Motel is an essential addition to your bucket list.

(By the way, Gene Autry stayed in Room #9… you weirdo)

The Good, The Bad… and the Free Wifi

Truth be told, spending a night in the High Desert of California would be a pleasure even if it was just you and a sleeping bag. However, the Pioneertown Motel offers you the chance to combine your stay with a little more luxury and less fear of being bitten by a rattlesnake.

The motel itself is a simple but gorgeous place, originally built in the 1940s as a waypost for the movie stars of yesteryear filming classic westerns in the legendary Pioneertown. Generic motel this ain’t.

The rooms are minimalist but comfortable, with cacti and queen beds (don’t confuse the two). It’s the ideal base to explore Pioneertown itself, where you can eat and drink at the iconic Pappy & Harriet’s, and wander the nearby Pioneertown Mountains Preserve. You’d be surprised at how much there is to see and do in a dusty ol’ desert!

In Short

  • Stay in the legendary Pioneertown
  • Explore the town and nearby nature preserve
  • Rest and recuperate with peace, quiet, and a few fingers of whisky
